Description

Train to Busan (2016) is a South Korean action-horror film directed by Yeon Sang-ho that combines intense zombie thrills with heartfelt human drama. The story follows Seok-woo, a workaholic father, who is traveling with his young daughter, Su-an, on a high-speed train to Busan. Their journey quickly descends into chaos when a sudden zombie outbreak spreads across South Korea. Trapped on the train, the passengers must fight for survival, navigating tight spaces, rapidly growing hordes, and the moral dilemmas that arise in life-or-death situations.

The film explores themes of sacrifice, humanity, and social responsibility. Seok-woo’s character undergoes significant development, moving from a distant, self-centered father to a man willing to risk everything to protect his daughter. Meanwhile, other passengers reveal both the best and worst aspects of human nature, from selfishness and panic to courage and selflessness. Train to Busan uses the zombie apocalypse not just for horror thrills but as a lens to examine ethical choices and interpersonal relationships under extreme stress.
