Australia Sydney Broadcast 1993 - Volume One

Madonna’s Australia Sydney Broadcast 1993 – Volume One is a live release drawn from her Girlie Show World Tour stop at Sydney Cricket Ground, capturing the broadcast of her Erotica‑era stage production for Australian audiences in late 1993. Issued on double vinyl and other unofficial/grey‑market formats years later, it presents the opening stretch of the concert, preserving the soundboard audio of a show that was also used for the HBO special and subsequent video album The Girlie Show: Live Down Under.

The set focuses on the first half of the performance, featuring “The Girlie Theme” intro and a run of early numbers including “Erotica,” “Fever,” “Vogue,” “Rain,” “Express Yourself,” and “Deeper and Deeper,” which showcase Madonna leaning into a burlesque‑meets‑cabaret aesthetic with heavy house and R&B influences from the Erotica album. Across these tracks, you hear the tight live band, reworked arrangements, and crowd energy that defined this tour, making the album less a traditional “live best‑of” and more a document of a specific, provocative staging of her early‑’90s persona at its peak.
