Be Sweet to Me is the debut studio album by American singer Violet Grohl, released May 29, 2026 through her own Auroura Records imprint in partnership with Republic Records. Grohl — the eldest daughter of Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl — was twenty years old at the time of release, but had already been developing the record for over a year, recording from August 2024 into May 2025 at producer Justin Raisen's Los Angeles home studio alongside a rotating group of studio musicians assembled in the spirit of the Wrecking Crew session players of the 1960s and 70s. Co-produced primarily by Raisen (known for his work with Kim Gordon, Charli XCX, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Anthony Paul Lopez, the eleven-track, thirty-two-minute record was preceded by singles "THUM," "595," and "Cool Buzz," each supported by music videos. The album's title comes from a phrase Grohl and her best friend used with each other — a playful plea that she described as simultaneously a personal in-joke and "a plea or an introduction: this is my first time doing this."

Musically, Be Sweet to Me is rooted in 1990s alternative rock but draws from an unusually wide range of touchstones — Grohl has cited the Breeders, PJ Harvey, Pixies, Soundgarden, and Cocteau Twins as primary influences, alongside a personal affinity for horror films, David Lynch, Scandinavian black metal, vocal jazz, and 70s acoustic folk. Apple Music described the album as "vicious and vulnerable in equal measure," noting that her vocal and songwriting range spans "the wistful West Coast melodicism of Celebrity Skin-era Hole" on "Big Memory," "the disquieting delicacy of PJ Harvey" on "Applefish," and "the raw intimacy of Kurt Cobain's acoustic repertoire" on the closing "Plastic Couch." Wikipedia notes that the album incorporates elements of grunge, heavy metal, shoegaze, punk, folk, and jazz alongside its alternative rock core — a breadth of influence that gives the record an impressionistic, genre-fluid quality, with the songs colored throughout by Grohl's deep love of cinema and her instinct for melody over noise.
