Beyond Hell (20th Anniversary Edition)

Two decades after dragging listeners into the depths of the underworld, GWAR celebrate the 20th anniversary of Beyond Hell, their 2006 heavy metal rock opera, with a fully remastered deluxe edition. The band's tenth studio album is a concept record that follows the Scumdogs of the Universe on a wild, blood-soaked journey to Hell. They escape the armies of humanity and come face to face with the Devil himself. Behind the outrageous costumes and over-the-top story is one of the most musically accomplished records of GWAR's career, packed with sharp, thrashing riffs and pure heavy metal mayhem. Paul Logus, known for his work with Anthrax and Killswitch Engage, has freshly remastered the album, giving it a crisp, punchy sound that still keeps all the grime under the fingernails.

Highlights include "War Is All We Know," "Murderer's Muse," "Go To Hell!," "Tormentor," the newly showcased "Eighth Lock" and GWAR's gloriously unhinged cover of Alice Cooper's classic "School's Out." This anniversary edition also includes a previously unreleased "Outro" track, recorded during the original sessions but never released until now. The deluxe CD comes with a fold-out poster. It's an essential pickup for longtime GWAR fans and a perfect entry point for anyone ready to discover the most notorious band in the universe. Not for the faint of heart.
