Caught In The Act
Michael Buble
Caught in the Act is Michael Bublé's second live album, originally released on November 15, 2005 via Reprise/143 Records. It was recorded at the historic Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles during two August 2005 stops on his It's Time tour, and the concert was filmed for broadcast as an episode of PBS's Great Performances during that holiday season. The original release was a DVD/CD package, with the audio disc featuring only eight songs from what was in fact a sprawling, 100-minute show. Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gatica, the concert captures Bublé at a key moment in his ascent — confident, charismatic, and backed by a full touring band complete with horns and strings — running through a program that draws on the Great American Songbook, his then-two studio albums, and a range of beloved covers from the Beatles to Stevie Wonder to Van Morrison.
The full concert has only become widely available in audio form in 2026, when Reprise issued a complete 33-track, 2CD expanded edition to mark the release's 20th anniversary — the first time the entire show has appeared in audio format. Highlights of the set include a sweeping "Feeling Good," an energetic romp through the Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love," the Adult Contemporary chart-topping original "Home," and a duet with Italian pop star Laura Pausini on "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine." The evening also featured guest appearances from trumpeter Chris Botti and a comedic exchange with Josh Groban. The album peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Jazz chart upon its original release and achieved multi-platinum status around the world, cementing Bublé's reputation as one of the great live entertainers of his generation.
