Conscious Party

Out of print for years, Conscious Party is back. It's the Grammy-winning 1988 breakthrough from Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers, the group made up of Bob Marley's children Ziggy, Stephen, Sharon and Cedella. Produced by Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, the album blends classic roots reggae with bright, polished production and a positive, socially conscious spirit. It became the Melody Makers' biggest success and established them as reggae's heirs apparent, following in their legendary father's footsteps. Ziggy, in particular, looked and sounded remarkably like his dad.

Highlights include the uplifting hit "Tomorrow People," the No. 1 smash "Tumblin' Down" and the joyful title track "Conscious Party." There's also "Lee And Molly," featuring a guitar part from none other than Keith Richards, and Talking Heads' Jerry Harrison makes a guest appearance on the album. Full of warm grooves, singalong choruses and messages of love, unity and hope, it's a feel-good reggae classic that still sounds fresh today. It's a must-have for Marley family fans and reggae lovers, and perfect for anyone who wants to bring some good vibes into their collection.
