Drivers License / Burning Down the House is a limited-edition 7" vinyl released by Olivia Rodrigo in early 2026 to mark the fifth anniversary of her breakthrough debut single "drivers license." Side A features a cover of "drivers license" recorded by David Byrne — the Talking Heads frontman — in his signature quirk-baroque art-pop style, built around a strikingly impassioned vocal performance. Byrne's take was the first in a planned series of covers celebrating the fifth anniversary of Rodrigo's debut album Sour. The vinyl was pressed on red translucent 7-inch wax, with a fruit-punch-colored Target exclusive variant also available.
Side B captures Rodrigo and Byrne's live performance of the Talking Heads classic "Burning Down the House" from Rodrigo's headline set at the 2025 Governors Ball, where Byrne made a surprise guest appearance. The two performed together dressed in matching red outfits, and the moment became one of the more talked-about festival performances of that summer. The release came alongside Byrne's own announcement of his cover, which Rodrigo described as "an incredible reworking from one of my all-time heroes."
