Duos De Mes 60 Ans
Mario Pelchat
Duos de mes 60 ans is Mario Pelchat’s 21st album, conceived as a 60th‑birthday project built entirely around duets with artists he admires from Québec and the wider francophone world. Released in late 2025 on MP3 Disques and first made available exclusively through Jean Coutu pharmacies before arriving on digital platforms, it gathers 13 tracks in about 48 minutes, mixing new material with a single cover to create what Pelchat calls a “cadeau” both to himself and to his long‑time audience.
Each song pairs him with a different guest—among them Ginette Reno, Patrick Bruel, Isabelle Boulay, Garou, Lynda Lemay, PETiTOM, Chimène Badi, Daniel Lavoie, Bruno Pelletier, Anggun, Anne Sila, Slimane, and a posthumous appearance by Maurane—resulting in a varied tour of contemporary chanson styles. The repertoire consists of 12 originals plus one reprise, “Je n’t’aime plus” with Slimane (marking the song’s 25th anniversary), alongside pieces like “Je n’oublie pas” (Ginette Reno), “Nos racines” (Patrick Bruel), “Hier et toujours” (Isabelle Boulay), “Qu’est-ce que tu deviens” (Garou), and an unreleased duet with Maurane chosen by her family and Pelchat’s close collaborator Rick Allison. Critics describe the album as an elegant and emotional homage to francophone songcraft—an “album‑souvenir” that reads as a declaration of love to the genre itself, and as a testament to Pelchat’s enduring voice and his chemistry with some of the scene’s most respected interpreters.
