Eyes Open (20th Anniversary Special Edition)

Snow Patrol’s Eyes Open (20th Anniversary Special Edition) revisits the Northern Irish band’s breakthrough fourth album, originally released in 2006. The record pairs expansive alternative-rock arrangements with Gary Lightbody’s intimate, yearning songwriting, moving from the driving opening track “You’re All I Have” and the urgent “Hands Open” to the hushed heartbreak of “You Could Be Happy.” At its center is “Chasing Cars,” the slow-building anthem whose plainspoken emotional directness became inseparable from the album’s enduring appeal. Other highlights include the cinematic “Open Your Eyes,” the brooding “Headlights on Dark Roads,” and “Set the Fire to the Third Bar,” a delicate duet with Martha Wainwright. The original album was the UK’s biggest-selling album of 2006 and has been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.

Released on July 24, 2026, the anniversary edition expands the original 11-track program into a 36-track document of the Eyes Open era. It adds seven B-sides, the standalone Spider-Man 3 song “Signal Fire,” rare tracks such as “Perfect Little Secret,” and—on the 2CD/digital version—a second disc of live, acoustic, and remix material, including performances recorded in Toronto, Berlin, and at London’s Union Chapel. Revised artwork and new sleeve notes by Lightbody give the set a reflective, archival dimension, while the bonus music shows how the band could adapt these songs from studio-scale anthems into more exposed live performances.
