Björk's “History Of Touches (Rabit Naked Mix)” is a single-track release and part of the Vulnicura Remixed project, where select producers reworked songs from her 2015 breakup album Vulnicura. The remix was issued in 2015 as a limited 12-inch vinyl single (with a single-sided, etched disc) and as a digital single credited as “History of Touches (feat. Rabit) [Rabit Naked Mix],” sitting alongside other one-track 12-inches by Krampfhaft, Katie Gately, and others. It’s one of twelve remixes in the project, each using the same visual series and format but with different color schemes for the sleeves, making the physical edition a sought-after collectible among fans.

Musically, Rabit’s “Naked Mix” takes the original “History of Touches”—a brief, minimal synth-and-vocal piece about Björk waking her partner in the night and compressing the entire history of their physical intimacy into a single, time-lapse-like moment—and strips it down even further into an eerie, quasi-ambient soundscape. Texas-based producer Rabit twists and reframes her vocals, surrounding them with sparse, cold electronics and ghostly textures, creating what one description calls a “quasi-ambient version that feels thoroughly eerie,” emphasizing space, dislocation, and emotional unease. Björk herself has praised Rabit’s work for its “spartan, fierce” character and distinctive rhythmic personality, seeing this remix as an example of how Vulnicura’s intensely personal material could be transformed by experimental electronic artists into new, unsettling shapes while retaining the song’s core emotional narrative.
