Let Your Horses Run - The Deluxe Album
Brett Kissel
Let Your Horses Run — The Deluxe Album is the expanded edition of Brett Kissel's fourteenth studio album, originally released on February 28, 2025 through Big Star Recordings. The original 10-track album — primarily produced by Mickey Jack Cones and Bart McKay — marked a significant creative evolution for the multi-platinum, three-time JUNO Award-winning Alberta-born artist, representing a deliberate return to his Western country roots with a more mature and elevated sound. Six of the ten tracks were co-written by Kissel himself, and the album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborations: country legend Phil Vassar on "Rich Is," viral US sensation Cooper Alan on "Two Of Us," rising Texan artist Don Louis on "Get The Hell Out Of This Town," and emerging talent Morgan Klaiber on "All This Cowboy Needs." The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2025 Canadian Country Music Association Awards and produced multiple Top 10 country radio hits in Canada.
The Deluxe Edition, released in late September 2025, adds six new tracks to the original 10 — bringing the total runtime to 16 songs and just over 53 minutes. Its centerpiece is a newly recorded version of "Hurtin' Songs" featuring 15-time Grammy-nominated superstar Dierks Bentley, which Kissel described as a natural fit from the moment he wrote the track: "From the moment I heard this song, I knew it was special, and thankfully when I sent it to Dierks Bentley, he felt the same way." The deluxe edition also introduces "Heart To Forget," a stirring ballad that Kissel called his "first-ever heartbreak song" and the most vulnerable piece he has ever released, alongside a trio of reimagined versions of previous highlights — a "Mezcal Club Mix" and acoustic mix of the title track, a playful "Margarita Mix" of "Two Of Us" with Cooper Alan, and a stripped-back "Neat Mix" of "Another One." As AntiMusic noted, Kissel described it as "the best music I've ever released."
