Description

Nestor’s Live at Gothenburg Film Studios captures the Swedish melodic hard-rock band’s first live album, released by Napalm Records in August 2026. Drawing from Kids in a Ghost Town and Teenage Rebel, the 16-track, approximately 75-minute set showcases their affectionate revival of 1980s arena rock: soaring vocals, ringing guitar riffs, prominent keyboards, and choruses designed for communal singalongs. Following the introductory track, “We Come Alive” launches a program that includes “Kids in a Ghost Town,” “Stone Cold Eyes,” “Perfect 10,” and “The One That Got Away,” presenting the band’s polished studio songwriting in a more immediate, energetic setting.

Singer Tobias Gustavsson leads the performance alongside guitarist Jonny Wemmenstedt, bassist Marcus Åblad, keyboardist Martin Frejinger, and drummer Mattias Carlsson, with the interplay between guitar and keyboards central to the album’s nostalgic sound. Highlights include the driving “Firesign,” the keyboard-rich “On the Run,” and the anthemic “Teenage Rebel,” while the extended “1989” and closing “It Ain’t Me” round out the set. Gustavsson describes the recording as a less clinical, more human experience than the studio albums, and that distinction defines its appeal: Live at Gothenburg Film Studios offers both an accessible introduction to Nestor’s catalogue and a concert-focused celebration of their melodic hooks, emotional delivery, and unabashed love of classic arena-rock spectacle.
