Tedeschi Trucks Band
Live Revelator is a short, four‑song live release from Tedeschi Trucks Band, originally issued as a limited‑edition CD in 2012 and repressed on colored vinyl in 2026. It was conceived as a companion to their Grammy‑winning debut studio album Revelator and as an early preview of the full double live set Everybody’s Talkin’, capturing the 11‑piece band onstage in the period when they were first defining their sound together. The performances stretch familiar songs out with extended solos, horn arrangements, and vocal interplay, framing the group less as a studio project and more as a powerhouse road band steeped in Southern rock, soul, blues, and jam‑band improvisation.
Across the EP’s four tracks (pulled from Revelator and early live repertoire), Susan Tedeschi’s gritty, gospel‑inflected vocals and Derek Trucks’s fluid slide guitar sit at the center, supported by a full rhythm section, keys, and a three‑piece horn line. Songs are given room to breathe: verses and choruses open out into instrumental sections where Trucks, Kofi Burbridge, and the horns trade statements, and the grooves lock into a deep, slow‑burn pocket that’s very different from the tighter studio versions.
