Magnolia Sage
Jackson Dean
Magnolia Sage is the third studio album by Maryland-born country singer-songwriter Jackson Dean, released on April 24, 2026 via Big Machine Label Group. It arrives on the heels of his second consecutive number one single, "Heavens to Betsy," and follows his 2024 sophomore effort On the Back of My Dreams. The album was produced entirely by Luke Dick — with whom Dean co-wrote the majority of its 11 tracks — alongside an impressive roster of co-writers that includes Tucker Beathard, Rodney Clawson, Laura Veltz, Natalie Hemby, Dan Isbell, and Jessie Jo Dillon. Conceptually, the record is organized around a dual thematic framework: the title itself reflects two distinct sonic and emotional worlds — Magnolia, representing the softer, more soulful and intimate side of the album, and Sage, gesturing toward a wider, more cinematic Western edge — with each of the 11 tracks belonging to one of those two worlds. Dean has described it as the most intentional and self-aware record of his career, one that reflects a personal settling into contentment rather than a push toward reinvention.
Lyrically and sonically, Magnolia Sage is built around a tender throughline: what it means to be loved and to love in return — not just the fire of early romance but the quieter romanticism of daily life with another person. Singles released ahead of the album include the opening "Blacktop Blues," "Make A Liar," "Be Your Man," "Over and Over," "Wildfire," and "Hey Mississippi," together sketching a record that is, as Country Town put it, "more stripped back in its delivery — less about dramatics and more about honesty." The closing track, "Heart on the Range," co-written with Dan Isbell, provides the album's most expansive and cinematic moment, while "Something Easy" with Natalie Hemby and "Tennessee Moon" are among the more intimate entries. Country Central, which awarded the album 8.5 out of 10, described it as "an album for those happily married, once in love, and in love — but equally for those who are yearning for it," a record in which Dean "delivers 11 passionate stories through thoughtfully curated analogies" that draw on the full breadth of his developing artistry.
