Description

Pac’s Life is 2Pac’s tenth and final studio album, and his sixth posthumous release, issued on November 21, 2006 by Amaru Entertainment and Interscope. It runs 13 tracks (14 with bonus cuts) over about 55 minutes, built almost entirely from vocal performances recorded during his Death Row period in 1995–1996, with new production and guest verses added in 2005–2006. The album debuted at number 9 on the Billboard 200 with around 159,000 first‑week sales, making it 2Pac’s tenth US top‑ten album and his seventh posthumous project to reach the top ten.

With the exception of “Soon As I Get Home,” which appears in its original, unaltered form, every track is a remix that pairs Pac’s older vocals with contemporary beats and a wide roster of guests. Producers include Swizz Beatz, L.T. Hutton, QD3, Sha Money XL, and others, and the feature list stretches across generations: Outlawz, Krayzie Bone, Hussein Fatal, Big Syke, T.I., Ashanti, Keyshia Cole, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Chamillionaire, Young Buck, Lil Scrappy, Jay Rock, Nipsey Hussle, and three posthumous appearances by Yaki Kadafi, among more. The title track “Pac’s Life,” with T.I. and Ashanti, and “Untouchable (Swizz Beatz Remix)” featuring Krayzie Bone were pushed as singles, each accompanied by videos—“Pac’s Life” notably shot at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts, tying the release to Pac’s legacy work.
