Description

Paddington The Musical — Original Cast Recording is the cast album for the acclaimed West End production that opened at London's Savoy Theatre on 30 November 2025. The music and lyrics were written by McFly's Tom Fletcher, with a book by Olivier Award-winning playwright Jessica Swale and direction by Luke Sheppard. The album was recorded with the full West End cast and a complete orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, arranged, orchestrated, and produced by Matt Brind, and released digitally via Decca Records on 10 April 2026, followed by physical vinyl, CD, and Yoto editions on 22 May 2026. The full recording runs to just over 80 minutes across 25 tracks, with a streamlined selection available on the vinyl edition.

Thematically, the album captures the warmth and gentle humour of Michael Bond's beloved source material while drawing on the tone of the award-winning StudioCanal films. Fletcher's score spans a wide range of styles, from toe-tapping ensemble numbers like "The Rhythm of London" and the rousing "Unstoppable" to heartfelt ballads such as "Everything You Never Were" and "Dear Family," all united by themes of belonging, family, and finding one's place in the world. The show's villain, Millicent Clyde, gets her own theatrical showcase in "Pretty Little Dead Things," performed by Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, while Fletcher himself appears on several tracks including "The Explorer & The Bear" and "One of Us." The Sawney Bean-esque darkly comic elements are balanced by moments of genuine sentimentality, making the album accessible to audiences of all ages.
