Description

Electric Callboy’s Tanzneid is a high-energy collision of metalcore, techno, dance-pop, and rave music, released in August 2026 through Century Media. Following 2022’s Tekkno, the German band doubles down on its signature contrasts: pounding electronic beats and euphoric choruses give way to distorted guitars, guttural vocals, and punishing breakdowns. The opening title track establishes that approach with a thumping bass line and an oversized hook, while “Elevator Operator” and the BABYMETAL collaboration “RATATATA” turn the same combination into exuberant party anthems. It is deliberately excessive music, designed to make dancing and moshing feel like two expressions of the same impulse.

The album’s defining quality is its playfulness, with self-aware humor and abrupt stylistic changes keeping its heavy passages from becoming overly solemn. “The Way You Are” moves from boy-band-style pop into dense breakdowns and harsh screams, demonstrating how vocalists Kevin Ratajczak and Nico Sallach hold the contrasting elements together. Elsewhere, “Revery” and “Hypercharged” reinforce the record’s mix of melodic accessibility and adrenaline-fueled aggression. With many of its core songs released as singles beforehand and four remixes supplementing the program, Tanzneid also functions as a collection of the band’s recent dance-metal experiments—a flamboyant, knowingly ridiculous record whose appeal rests on catchy songwriting as much as sonic spectacle.
