Description
Ceremony’s Tell Me Your Dream is the California band’s seventh studio album, released August 7, 2026, through Relapse Records. Reuniting with producer John Reis, its ten tracks bring the group’s punk intensity into a broad musical setting, balancing abrasive energy with melodic guitar work, prominent bass lines, and atmospheric passages. Ross Farrar’s vocals move between restraint and confrontation, supported by guitarist-keyboardist Anthony Anzaldo, guitarist Andy Nelson, bassist Justin Davis, and drummer Jake Casarotti. The defining quality is restlessness: opener “Prograde” builds from a supple bass groove and jangling guitars, establishing a record that channels urgency through rhythm and texture rather than relying exclusively on speed or distortion.
At approximately 31 minutes, the album keeps most of its songs concise, moving from the two-minute “Other Hells” through “Madness,” “Dark Summer,” and “Deep Down Where I Belong.” “Antenna” and “Justify” carry the middle stretch before “Death Destruction Mayhem” and “10 Planets” lead into the more expansive “Paradise.” That nearly five-minute closer begins with an ethereal atmosphere, providing a contrasting final setting after the shorter preceding tracks. Across the sequence, Tell Me Your Dream connects Ceremony’s hardcore origins with their interest in more spacious, melodic forms, treating those impulses as complementary ways to express tension rather than choosing between aggression and atmosphere.
