The Dark We Keep is the fifth studio album by Swedish progressive alternative metal trio Port Noir, released on May 15, 2026 via InsideOut Music. The Stockholm-based band — comprising Love Andersson on vocals, bass, guitar, and keyboards; Andreas Hollstrand on guitar and keyboards; and Andreas Wiberg on drums — has described the record as their heaviest and darkest work to date, representing a deliberate shift toward more aggressive and intense territory while retaining the melodic sophistication and modern production that have defined their previous four albums. The record was preceded by a series of singles including "Redshift," "Complicated," "Noir," "Ebb and Flow," and "Burst," which signaled the band's heavier direction before the full eleven-track, 49-minute album arrived.

Across its runtime, The Dark We Keep draws on a wide range of influences — djent, progressive metal, dark alternative, and electronic textures — drawing frequent comparisons to Katatonia, Sleep Token, VOLA, and Leprous. The Prog Report describes the sound as "a rowdier version of compatriots Katatonia," while Sea of Tranquility praises vocalist Love Andersson for delivering "with subtlety and control," noting that tracks like "Complicated," "Redshift," and "Noir" balance electronic textures with alternative heaviness, while "Ebb and Flow" and "Burst" highlight the band's strength in restraint and atmosphere. Earshot calls it "the most mature and courageous work of their career so far," and Metal Hammer notes that the album functions best as a cohesive whole rather than a collection of individual standout tracks — a dense, brooding listen where the droning bass and hovering atmosphere generate sustained tension throughout.
