Description

The Good Ole American Saturday Night is the 12th studio album from Boston ska-punk veterans Big D and the Kids Table, released on June 12, 2026 via SideOneDummy Records. It marks the band's first full-length in five years and was produced by two figures deeply embedded in the ska scene — Joe Gittleman of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Matt Appleton of Reel Big Fish, who also plays tenor and baritone saxophone on the record. The nine-member lineup, featuring a full horn section with dual trombones, tenor saxophone, and organ, sounds as energized and purposeful as ever, with frontman David McWane framing the album as the ultimate summer listen for fans across all eras of the band's catalogue, from Good Luck to Strictly Rude.

Across its 14 tracks, the album ranges from high-energy ska-punk anthems and laid-back reggae grooves to reflective songwriting and massive singalong choruses, capturing the full breadth of what Big D and the Kids Table have always done best. Thematically, it is a celebration of individuality, connection, creativity, and finding joy in difficult times — a statement of optimism and DIY punk ethos from a band now more than three decades into their career. Lead single "Whiplash" set the tone early and generated strong anticipation, while tracks like "More Fun," "Scatterbrain," and the title track have been singled out as particular highlights. As The Whole Kameese put it, "there is not a bad song to be found" on the record.
