Description

The Resurrection of a King is the sixteenth studio album and second holiday record from American producer, composer, and songwriter Tommee Profitt, released on March 27, 2026 via Capitol Christian Music Group in digital, streaming, CD, and LP formats. Conceived as a direct sequel to his 2020 Christmas album The Birth of a King — which has accumulated over 200 million global streams and spawned a live arena concert event — the album applies Profitt's signature cinematic production style to the Easter story, reimagining 19 classic hymns including "The Old Rugged Cross," "Jesus Paid It All," "Amazing Grace," and "At the Cross." The project features an expansive roster of guest vocalists including Phil Wickham, CeCe Winans, Crowder, Jenn Johnson, Ben Fuller, Jon Reddick, Jeremy Rosado, Fleurie, Jordan Smith, and Stanaj, among others.

The album's sound is rooted in what Profitt calls a "new soundtrack to the Easter story" — hymns reimagined to feel new and fresh, with aggressive modern orchestration layered beneath vocalists selected for both technical power and emotional depth. Five singles were released ahead of the full album drop: "He Arose" (featuring Phil Wickham), "There Is Power" (Crowder), "Nothing but the Blood" (Jeremy Rosado), "Just as I Am" (Jon Reddick), and "Blessed Assurance" (Mara Justine). Of those, "He Arose" charted at number 30 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. The album's 19 tracks span nearly 90 minutes across two CDs, with the closing stretch — including Jordan Smith's seven-minute rendering of "My Jesus, I Love Thee" and Aubree Archibeck's nearly eight-minute "How Great Thou Art" — leaning into extended, cathedral-scale arrangements.
