Alice Cooper’s The Studio Albums 1975–1978 is a 2026 five-CD or five-LP box set that collects the first four albums released under Cooper’s solo name following the breakup of the original Alice Cooper band. Remastered for the collection, it traces a period in which he expanded shock rock into theatrical concept albums, polished pop-rock, cabaret, disco, and darker autobiographical songwriting. The four central albums are Welcome to My Nightmare (1975), Alice Cooper Goes to Hell (1976), Lace and Whiskey (1977), and From the Inside (1978), representing a pivotal transition from the group’s glam-heavy early-1970s sound to a more varied, character-driven solo style.

Welcome to My Nightmare introduces the recurring nightmare figure Steven through dramatic songs including “Devil’s Food,” “The Black Widow,” “Only Women Bleed,” and “Department of Youth.” Alice Cooper Goes to Hell continues its predecessor’s theatrical darkness with “Go to Hell,” “I Never Cry,” and “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows,” while Lace and Whiskey shifts into a sleeker, more playful rock-and-roll mode through “You and Me,” “Road Rats,” and the title song. From the Inside, written after Cooper’s hospitalization for alcoholism, adopts the perspective of psychiatric patients and hospital staff in tracks such as “The Quiet Room,” “Nurse Rozetta,” “How You Gonna See Me Now,” and “Inmates (We’re All Crazy).” A fifth disc, Misdemeanors, adds single edits plus rarities including “No Tricks,” recorded with Betty Wright, and “Road Rats,” making the collection both a focused portrait of Cooper’s formative solo era and an archival edition for longtime listeners.
