Tudo is Bebel Gilberto’s 2014 studio album, a graceful blend of bossa nova, Brazilian popular music, acoustic pop, and subtle electronica. Produced by Mario Caldato Jr.—who had also worked on her breakthrough Tanto Tempo—the record foregrounds Gilberto’s soft, close-miked vocals amid gentle guitars, percussion, keyboards, bass, and occasional string arrangements. The result is warm and intimate rather than flashy: music with the rhythmic ease of Rio bossa nova, but shaped for a contemporary international pop setting.

The album moves fluidly among Portuguese, English, and French, pairing original material with personal interpretations of songs by Neil Young (“Harvest Moon”), Antônio Carlos Jobim (“Vivo Sonhando”), her father João Gilberto (“Saudade Vem Correndo”), and Jean-Michel Jarre (“Tout est Bleu”). Seu Jorge joins Gilberto for the relaxed, playful duet “Novas Ideias,” while pieces such as “Somewhere Else,” “Nada Não,” “Tom de Voz,” the title track, “Areia,” “Lonely in My Heart,” and “Inspiração” sustain its dreamy, reflective mood. Tudo—Portuguese for “everything”—feels like a mature synthesis of Gilberto’s musical inheritance and her own cosmopolitan, electronically touched version of modern bossa nova.
