Description
Blondshell’s Violins is Sabrina Teitelbaum’s third album, an 11-song collection that expands her guitar-driven alternative rock into a more reflective, lyrically adventurous space. Released in September 2026 through Partisan Records and produced by longtime collaborator Yves Rothman, it retains the grungy textures, ringing guitars, and melodic force of her earlier work while allowing more room for restraint and atmosphere. The title track establishes the record’s central tension—its accidental wordplay linking “violins” with “violence”—as inviting melodies frame unsettling observations. Throughout, Teitelbaum balances jagged rock energy with a more conversational, poetic approach to songwriting.
Rather than focusing solely on troubled romances, Violins broadens its attention to friendship, femininity, identity, and the difficulty of remaining tender in a threatening world. “Lucky” contrasts peaceful moments on tour with the horrors of the news cycle, “Knotted” examines the contradictions of messy love, and “New Age Trojan Horse” scrutinizes men whose progressive language conceals deeper discomfort with women’s realities. The atmospheric closer “Fur Elise” brings the album toward a more vulnerable resolution. These songs make Violins a record about recognizing harmful patterns without surrendering emotional openness, with Teitelbaum’s dry humor and precise observations giving its familiar alternative-rock foundations a distinctive personal voice.
