Description

Yes is the tenth studio album by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys — Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe — originally released on March 18, 2009 via Parlophone. Recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios and produced by Brian Higgins and his renowned production team Xenomania — best known for their work with Girls Aloud — the album marked a deliberate return to dancefloor-oriented synth-pop after the more guitar-driven and stripped-back textures of Release (2002) and Fundamental (2006). The 11-track, 48-minute record debuted at number four on the UK Albums Chart and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 2010 ceremony. Standout tracks include the exuberant lead single "Love etc.," the euphoric "All Over the World," the glittering "Beautiful People," and "Did You See Me Coming?" — a song later selected for the duo's first-ever greatest hits tour.

The 2018 Remaster edition presents the album's original 11-track sequence in a newly remastered form, distinct from the more expansive Yes: Further Listening 2008–2010 three-disc deluxe set that had been released in October 2017 with bonus B-sides, demos, and rarities. The 2018 remaster came as part of the broader final wave of the Pet Shop Boys' Catalogue: 1985–2012 reissue campaign — the same programme that in early 2018 saw newly remastered editions of Please, Actually, and Introspective released on March 2, 2018. Available on CD and vinyl LP, the 2018 remaster offers the cleanest-sounding presentation of the album in a streamlined format, making it the definitive standalone edition of Yes for listeners who want the album as it was conceived — without the supplementary archival material of the deluxe set.
